Changes

These past few weeks have been filled with changes:
1. I got my hair cut and highlighted-- finally!
2. We adopted a playmate for Rookie. Her name is Jovy and she's 6 months old.
3. Eden is now letting go every time she stands up.
4. Eden discovered the dishwasher and LOVES pulling the silverware out of the rack.
5. Brock finished his first year of teaching.
6. We have mopped the kitchen floor 37 times since we got Jovy (due to potty problems).

Here are some pictures of the recent events: (thanks gma Farrel for Eden's new clothes!)

Andrew's Sniper School Update

For those who don't know, Andrew graduated from LU last Saturday and has been in sniper training for the past 5 days. The Sniper School is a 5 day program that requires the guys to be on the field for 10 hours a day. Here's an email from my dad with an update:

He is learning a ton that he can tell you about. For example, just yesterday, they: 1) learned how to shoot at an angle (for example, Hawaii SWAT is on the 16th floor of a hotel and there is a ground level hostage situation. Normal distance calculation said the shot would be 160 feet. They showed them that they actually need to plan about a 20 foot shot - since the shot is pretty much straight down, gravity does the rest.) 2) learned to shoot at a moving target 3) shot at targets 700 yards (he was one of three who hit a "kill shot" with his first shot) and 900 yards (9 football fields!) 4) learned to shoot at moving targets and 5) learned to use the sling to tie the gun to his left arm and drop to either a prone, sitting, or kneeling firiing position (so the instructor says "prone" and he can go to the ground, flat on his stomach, ready to fire (he said these "hurt" and his firing wasn't very accurate because of all the movement).

This was just one day. He has learned like this every day and they have nicknamed him "college kid".

Just wanted to give you an update. Hi Eden! Hi Brock!

Love, Dad.

Don't drink the water

I have had 16 friends (and family) have babies since I had Eden last September. 16!! That's almost a full preschool class.

Abigail, Ella, Hunter, Addy Mae, Meredith, Logan, Tyler, Lydia, Lana, Augustine, James, Hailey, Wyatt, Abigail... and the list goes on....

There's something in the water... and I'm not about to drink from it anytime in the near future!

Andrew's Party, Beth's game, LCA visit...

Eden watched dad and Andrew tear apart the washing machine.

Andrew's fine demolition skills.

They were in search of the drum. They got it out (after 3 hours) and we had a bonfire in it during Andrew's birthday/gradution party.

She kept making a run for it, well, more like a crawl for it.

These are my favorite pictures from the past few weeks. This Polo dress is from Aunt Lori and Uncle Lee-- thanks!!

All Eden had to eat one day was beans and apricots. The result: 20 very messy diapers. I had to give her Pedialyte to solve the problem. She would rather chew on the lid than actually drink the grape yumminess.

I picked Eden up from daycare early last Friday and we went to visit dad in his classroom. His 7th graders adored her, and she loved the attention (and the container of wipes that she chewed on).

Eden and I went to our friend Beth's softball game at LU.

Black Eye and Deer Parts

This weekend was an adventure, to say the least. Rookie, being the excellent retreiver that he is, brought us a deer head and leg- on two separate occasions.

Then, Eden got a black eye. She and I went to Northern VA with Holly Myers this weekend. We were almost ready to head home when Eden... fell? She was sitting in big chair (the sofa type) and decided to test her leg strength. She stood up quickly and went flying over the arm rest and landed on the hardwood floor. She landed on her head (more like her eye) and then tumbled over. On the ride home, her eye starting getting puffy and turning purple. See below...

Eden is a cheerleader at Miss Cindie's today! She says "Go Daddy"!

First Teeth

Eden is getting her first teeth. She is the perfect child. She hasn't cried and is still sleeping through the night. As long as she has something to chew on, she's a happy camper!

The Daycare Life of Eden

It all started off with a very masculine outfit. What girl wouldn't want to wear a red, white and blue outfit that said "Daddy's Team"? I'm glad that Daddy made mom put an headband on my head.

Next, I got to play with my friend Caleb. He thinks he's bigger and older than me, so I grab his hair to remind him that girls rule and boys drool.

I'm learning to share, but it's a slow process. Normally, I just stare at them until they go away.

My favorite thing to say is "oh". This is my OH face.

I like to smile really big and have my picture taken because then Miss Cindie thinks that I understand what she's saying.

Sometimes she lets me babysit Lydia.

Lydia loves it when I poke her in the mouth. It's a fun game.

I get to take a nap right before my mom comes to pick me up. I love it when I only have to wear my diaper. I pretend like I'm sleeping until Miss Cindie leaves the room, and then I play with my doll.
